Tony slid into a last minute cancellation spot this fall with us, but during his hunt he kept asking questions about antler judging this larger bodied deer. As we favor “aging” bucks on the hoof first – then looking at the rack, we tried to help Tony where we could. He acted like an old veteran here for the first 4 days in letting go a few that sounded like they’d go in 140” to 150” category. As it sometimes happens on this hunt, he was presented with a snap decision to make on day 5 though, and this younger deer is the result.
